Give Fest 2024 is here, and it's a good one.
The 24-hour giving event, which will take place in Hays, Kansas, on Oct.
10, 2024, is being touted as "a fun, playful Oktoberfest twist to the giving season," the Hays Daily News reports.
The Heartland Community Foundation, which is coordinating the event, says it's designed to "galvanize the community to 'give back' in a big way."
That way, the foundation says, the donations made during the event will be matched 1:1 or go to the total money raised from a match pool of $150,000or $50,000 for each county.
The matching funds will go to local nonprofit organizations in Ellis and Trego counties.
"It creates an opportunity for residents to learn more about the vital work being done by nonprofits in their area and feel more connected and invested in their community," the foundation says.
